The no-confidence motion proposed against All India Tennis Association (AITA) President Anil Jain has been withdrawn. Eight state tennis associations, affiliated with AITA, had initiated the motion and called for an Extra Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Saturday, ahead of the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Jain, who had moved court to halt the EGM, saw his plea dismissed. He also alleged that some candidates vying for positions violated the Sports Code.

A source informed PTI that with the no-confidence motion withdrawn, the EGM was no longer necessary. However, specific details surrounding the withdrawal were not disclosed.

Allegations against Anil Jain

Anil Jain, a BJP Rajya Sabha MP, was accused of using AITA resources for personal gains, including covering entitled expenses during multiple family trips abroad. The eight state associations backing the motion included Assam, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Tripura. One state association claimed Jain misused his position for personal benefit.
