مزاد IPL: كان Harpreet Brar لاعبًا ممتازًا لـ PBKS، ويمكن أن يغير قواعد اللعبة لـ RCB، جنبًا إلى جنب مع شمس مولاني
RCB, during the recent IPL retentions, could only manage to save Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal, and Rajat Patidar. Now, that leaves them with a serious headache of getting their bowling unit right, which has always been their nemesis of sorts, given they play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the boundaries are short, and pitch is “easy for batting”. Such players needed, bowlers in short, who not only pick wickets, but also are economical.
Luckily, there are a few players who can make the cut for RCB. I mean, somehow their standards, bowling wise have been low throughout, but the inclusion of couple of such players can make the difference. These are spinners Shams Mulani and Harpreet Brar, who are not considered frontline bowlers for their teams, but are mighty effective when it comes to curtailing runs.
Just look at their records. Mumbai all-rounder Mulani has quickly become a Mumbai stalwart. He 45 T20s, he has picked up 52 wickets at a miserly economy of 6.70. To go with that, he has scored 147 runs at a strike rate of 114. On the other hand, Harpreet Brar has been around in the IPL for a few years, and been excellent for PBKS. The team was “stupid” not to retain him.
In 41 matches, he has 25 wickets, but his economy of 7.91 is what would be of more interest to RCB. He is decent with the bat too, where in IPL 2024, he scored runs at an average of 37, and a strike-rate of 138. If these two, along with Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar come to Bengaluru, it will give them great balance, without hurting their IPL purse much.
RCB Retention List
Virat Kohli – 21 Cr
Rajat Patidar – 11 Cr
Yash Dayal – 5 Cr
