We’ll soon get clarity on the IPL retention policy for the 2025 edition. There is speculation on the number of players franchises will be allowed to retain, with reports suggesting that 5 players will be allowed to be retained and RTM (Right to Match) Cards won’t be used at the mega auction.
According to Cricbuzz, there will be an IPL Governing Council meeting today (September 28). The announcement regarding the retention policy for the IPL 2025 season will be out in 24 hours. This could very well mean that we might get to know about the retention rules today and most definitely by tomorrow.
